MLB DFS Lineup Optimizer
Frequently Asked Questions
The BluecollarDFS MLB optimizer builds DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo lineups for classic slates from our own projections. Free builds 2 lineups at a time; Premium ($17.99 per month) builds up to 150 and adds team stacks such as 5/3 and 4/4 plus exposure controls.
How does the MLB DFS Optimizer work?
Our optimizer uses daily projections to build the highest-scoring lineups for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo. You can lock your favorite players, exclude players you want to fade, and use our powerful stacking features to create lineups that align with proven MLB DFS strategies.
What is Stacking in MLB DFS and how do the settings work?
Stacking is the most popular and effective strategy in MLB DFS. It means rostering multiple hitters from the same team who are batting near each other in the lineup. If that team has a big inning, your lineup score can multiply quickly. The numbers in our settings, like '4/3', refer to the number of hitters from different teams. A '4/3' stack means the optimizer will build a lineup with 4 hitters from one team and 3 from another.
What does 'Allow Batters vs. Pitcher' mean?
By default, to avoid negative correlation, our optimizer will never roster a hitter who is playing against a pitcher that is also in your lineup. Checking this box will disable that rule, allowing you to roster hitters against one of your own pitchers if your strategy calls for it.
What is position locking and how does it help with late swap?
Position locking is a Premium feature that lets you lock a player into a specific lineup slot — for example, on FanDuel, locking a C into the C/1B spot or a 1B into the UTIL spot. This is useful for late swap when early-game players are already committed to specific roster positions on the DFS site. The optimizer will respect those slot assignments and find the best remaining players for your open positions.
How does the optimizer handle pitchers?
Pitching is the foundation of a good MLB lineup. Our projections identify the strongest pitching plays of the day, considering factors like matchups and strikeout potential. The optimizer will always select the best available pitcher(s) based on their projection and salary. Remember that on DraftKings and Yahoo, you must roster two pitchers.
How are BluecollarDFS MLB projections built?
With our own multi-step process, refined over several seasons of MLB DFS. We select and combine a range of data and projection inputs, remove numbers that are far out of line with the rest, and calculate each site separately. Projections update as starting pitchers and batting orders are confirmed.
How often do MLB projections update?
MLB projections update daily as starting pitchers and batting orders are confirmed. Since lineups can change up until game time, we keep projections current so you're building with the latest information. Weather and other game-day factors are also reflected.
